Description
Listen to the silence within you and learn the ancient art of meditation.
Within each of us, a tranquil inner world lies waiting to be discovered.
Here, the silence, stillness and peacefulness of our deeper, spiritual nature
can be experienced through meditation and flow out into every part of our life.
Meditation reconnects us with the bright and positive qualities of our heart
and the greater happiness and delight of our souls.
The difference between prayer and meditation is this:
When we pray, we feel that our existence is a one-pointed flame soaring upward.
The very nature of prayer is to reach God by going up.
When we meditate, we throw ourselves into a vast expanse,
into an infinite sea of peace and bliss, or we welcome the infinite Vast into us.
To live in joy is to live the inner life.
This is the life that leads to self-realisation.
Self-realisation is God-realisation,
for God is nothing other than the Divinity that is deep inside each one of us,
waiting to be discovered and revealed.
Try to imagine a lotus inside your heart.
Then try to imagine that the lotus is not only inside your heart,
but that your heart itself is a lotus.

The potentially active volcano has produced numerous eruptions in the last 30,000 years, including within the last 500 years.
No one knows with any certainly exactly what that date was for there is no written record of it but most people believe it was around 1790.
This volcanic activity has been along two rift zones, the southwest and east.
These two rift zones together form an arc that extends from ʻĀhihi-Kīnaʻu on the southwest side of Maui
up through the Haleakalā Crater and over to Hāna, to the east - Maui Hikina.
The east rift zone continues beneath the ocean and beyond the east coast of Maui toward the island of Hawaiʻi - what many call the Big Island,
and it is known as Haleakalā Ridge, making the combined rift zones one of the longest in the Hawaiian Islands chain . . .
Haleakalā is sacred.
In ancient times no one could approach the summit without permission for access . .
For many centuries Haleakalā was considered a Wahi Pana (a legendary place, a sacred place) and a Wau Akua (a place where the gods live).
The ancient spiritual use of Haleakalā was for meditation and receiving spiritual wisdom by na Kāhuna Po‘o (the lead priests).
It is said to be a place where the tones of ancient prayer are balanced within the vortex of energy for spiritual manifestations.
In ancient times, only the Kāhuna and their haumana (students) lived at Haleakalā for initiation rites and practices.
Sacred House of the Sun
Gathering place of high supernatural beings
A place where heaven meets the earth
The land above the clouds, kua mauna, is a place where people never dwelled for long.
Ka po'e kahiko, the people of old, only came to this sacred place for specific reasons requiring training and understanding.
At the foot of the mountain lies kahakai, the coastal land, inhabited and cultivated for centuries.
Pu'u 'Ula'ula is a cinder cone like Magnetic Peak.
At 10,023 feet (3,055m), Pu'u 'Ula'ula is the highest point on Maui.
