Amitābha also known as Amida or Amitāyus, is a celestial buddha according to the scriptures of Mahayana Buddhism. Amitābha is the principal buddha in Pure Land Buddhism, a branch of East Asian Buddhism.
Tranquil replica of a Japanese Buddhist temple, with a 12-ft. bronze Buddha & a beautiful towering pagoda. the Lāhainā Jodo Mission was established in a private house in 1912 to propagate Buddhism in Lāhainā. The temple moved to its present location in 1931. Featuring one of the largest statues of the Buddha outside of Asia.
